LogEZ Privacy Policy
Effective 21 October 2026
Who we are
LogEZ is a workout logging app made by Enil (Linus William Tabanao), an independent developer in the Philippines. In this policy, "we" means the developer. Questions about this policy or your data: support@logezapp.com.
The short version
- LogEZ has no account, no ads and no analytics, and your workouts and measurements never leave your phone. We receive something only when you choose to send it: feedback from the Feedback page, or an email.
- Everything you log stays on your phone.
- The only things LogEZ itself sends over the internet are requests for map data, while a map is on screen, and the feedback you choose to send.
- If you tap a source link in a Learn article, your phone's browser opens that page. LogEZ sends nothing to it.
- You can delete any of your data in the app, or all of it at once.
What LogEZ stores on your phone
LogEZ keeps the following in its private storage on your device, which other apps cannot read:
- Your workouts, routines, sets, notes, goals and settings, including a maximum heart rate if you enter one.
- Exercises you create, including any photo you attach to one.
- Body measurements, and the progress photos and short videos you add to them.
- The route, distance, pace or speed and climb of each outdoor activity you track with GPS.
- If you connect Health Connect: daily step and calorie totals, and heart-rate readings taken during your workouts.
- Map data for the areas you have viewed, kept so maps load faster.
None of this is uploaded, synced or sent to us.
Location
When you track an outdoor activity, such as a run, a ride or a hike, LogEZ uses your precise location to measure its distance, pace or speed, and route. It keeps doing so while the screen is off or you are in another app, until you tap Finish or Cancel. Android shows that LogEZ is running the whole time: as an ongoing notification if you allow LogEZ's notifications, and otherwise in its list of active apps. LogEZ does not use your location at any other time.
If your phone has a pressure sensor (a barometer), LogEZ also reads it during an outdoor activity to measure how much you climbed. That reading is saved with the activity, only on your phone.
The route is saved only on your phone. Your phone's own location service (Google Play services on most Android phones) supplies the position to LogEZ; how that service works is set by your device settings and Google's policies.
Maps, one of two things that use the internet
LogEZ shows a map while you track an outdoor activity, on its summary, and when you open it later in History. To draw that map it downloads map data (map tiles, labels and icons) from OpenFreeMap, a free map service run by Hyperknot Software Kft. in Hungary, over an encrypted HTTPS connection.
Like any web request, each request reveals your phone's IP address, basic technical details such as the app and Android version, and the area of the map on screen. While you are tracking, that area is roughly where you are; when you open a past outdoor activity, it is where that route was. The requests carry no account, no identifier and none of your workout data.
OpenFreeMap says it does not store IP addresses in its normal logs, keeps them for up to 30 days only while investigating a security incident, and may deliver tiles through Cloudflare. Its privacy policy is at https://openfreemap.org/privacy/
Feedback you send, the other thing that uses the internet
The Feedback page (the last card on the Profile tab, and Settings > Send feedback) lets you write an idea, a complaint, a problem or praise to the developer. Nothing is sent until you tap Send feedback. If you tap it, LogEZ sends over an encrypted HTTPS connection: the kind of message you chose, the text you wrote, an email address only if you typed one in the optional reply box, a random identifier for the message, a random identifier of this installation of LogEZ (it is not linked to you, your phone or your Google account) and the time on your phone's clock.
If the switch Include app details is on (it is on by default), LogEZ adds the details listed under "See exactly what is added" on that page: the LogEZ version and whether it is a release build; the number of workouts you have logged and the database version (counts only); the make, model and Android version of the phone; the screen size and text size; your theme and colour, language and units; whether notifications are allowed, whether the system limits LogEZ's battery use, and whether Health Connect is installed and allowed. It never adds what you trained, exercise names, body measurements, photos, your location or your name. Turn the switch off and none of it is sent.
The message goes to the developer's website server, run by Cloudflare, which checks it and passes it to a Google Apps Script that writes it as a row in a private Google Sheet that only the developer can open and sends the developer a notification email through Google. Cloudflare and Google handle it for us as service providers: while the message passes through, they see your phone's IP address as any website does, and Cloudflare may keep ordinary server logs as its own privacy policy describes. The Sheet does not store your IP address.
If your phone has no connection, the message waits on your phone and is sent by itself when the phone is back online. Send by email instead opens your email app with the same message ready, addressed to buina2sharia@gmail.com; you send it yourself, and we then receive your email address and what you write.
We use feedback only to read it, to answer it if you gave a reply address, and to improve LogEZ. We do not sell it, share it or use it for advertising. We keep a message until it has been handled and for 12 months at most, then delete it. To have a message deleted sooner, email us at support@logezapp.com with its text or your reply address and we will remove it.
Health Connect
Connecting Health Connect is optional. If you connect it, LogEZ reads only the types you allow: steps, calories burned and heart rate. It never writes anything to Health Connect.
- Steps are shown on the Profile tab, the Workout tab (today and the last 7 days), the Statistics screen (the last 30 days) and the home-screen widget. Calories burned are shown on the Profile tab.
- Heart rate is shown during workouts and outdoor tracking, and as a chart on the summary shown when you finish and on the workout in History. Heart rate your watch syncs after you save is added when you next open that summary or workout. LogEZ keeps those readings with the workout, and they are included in full backups.
- LogEZ keeps a copy of daily step and calorie totals, and of the heart-rate readings for each workout, on your phone.
Data from Health Connect is used only to show your own figures back to you. It is never used for advertising, never sold, never shared with anyone, and never leaves your phone except inside a backup file you create yourself, or when you move LogEZ's data to a new phone with Android's phone-to-phone transfer. LogEZ's use of Health Connect data follows the Health Connect Permissions policy, including its Limited Use requirements.
To stop sharing and delete LogEZ's copy, use Settings > Export & backup > Disconnect and delete Health Connect data. The data in Health Connect itself is not touched.
Camera and photos
LogEZ uses the camera when you take a progress photo, record a progress video, or take a photo for a shared workout image. A video can be up to 30 seconds long and has no sound: LogEZ never uses the microphone. Photos and videos you choose from your gallery for a body-measurement entry, and a photo you attach to an exercise, are copied into LogEZ. They stay in LogEZ's private storage and are never uploaded. A photo you use as the background of a shared workout image is used only to draw that image on your phone.
Learn: articles and their sources
The articles in Learn are stored inside the app and need no internet connection. Each one lists its sources. If you tap a source, your phone's browser opens that page, for example a journal or a government website. That website sees your visit as any website does and is covered by its own privacy policy. LogEZ sends it nothing, and does not know that you opened it.
"Spotted a mistake?" at the end of an article opens your email app with a message to us. Like Send feedback, nothing is sent unless you send it.
LogEZ on your watch
If you install the LogEZ app on a Wear OS watch that is paired with your phone, LogEZ shares your current workout between the two while you train. The phone sends the workout's title, exercise names, sets with weights and reps, notes, timers and any maximum heart rate you set; for an outdoor activity it sends the distance, pace or speed and a GPS signal indicator, not your route. The watch sends back what you do on it, such as completing a set or pausing, and the heart-rate readings from its sensor if you allow that, which LogEZ keeps with the workout on your phone.
This travels directly between your own phone and watch through the Wearable Data Layer in Google Play services, not through us and not through any LogEZ server. Without a watch, nothing is shared.
Notifications
Notifications show your workout timer, rest timer and outdoor activity progress. LogEZ never sends marketing notifications.
When data leaves your phone because you chose it
- Sharing a workout summary image sends it to the app you pick in Android's share sheet.
- Saving a summary image puts it in your phone's Pictures folder.
- Exporting workouts or measurements creates a CSV file where you choose.
- A full backup creates a .zip file where you choose. It contains everything in LogEZ, including photos, GPS routes and Health Connect readings, and your videos unless you turn them off in Settings.
- Send feedback on the Feedback page sends your message to the developer as described under Feedback. Send by email instead, and "Spotted a mistake?" in a Learn article, open your email app with a message to us. If you send an email, we receive your email address and what you write, and keep it only as long as needed to reply.
These files are not encrypted, so anyone who can open them can read them. What happens to a file after you save or share it is up to you and the app or service you give it to.
Device backup and transfer
Android's cloud backup is turned off for LogEZ. On Android 12 and newer, a direct phone-to-phone transfer (for example when setting up a new phone with a cable) can copy LogEZ's data to the new phone. On older Android versions, use Settings > Export & backup > Full backup to move your data.
What LogEZ does not do
- No accounts or sign-in.
- No advertising, and no use of the advertising ID.
- No analytics, crash-reporting or tracking tools.
- No selling or renting of your data. The only data other companies receive from LogEZ is the map request described above and, if you send feedback, that message passing through Cloudflare and Google as described under Feedback. A source link you open in your browser is your browser's own visit to that website.
How long data is kept, and how to delete it
Your data stays on your phone until you delete it:
- Deleting a workout also deletes its sets, route and heart-rate readings.
- Deleting a measurement entry deletes it, with its photos and videos. Deleting a single photo or video also deletes its file.
- Deleting an exercise you created hides it and deletes its photo; it stays listed in past workouts that used it.
- Settings > Export & backup > Disconnect and delete Health Connect data deletes LogEZ's copy of Health Connect data.
- Settings > Export & backup > Delete all data erases everything in LogEZ, including cached map data. It does not disconnect Health Connect; use the option above for that.
- Uninstalling LogEZ, or clearing its storage in Android's settings, also deletes everything, except files you exported, images saved to Pictures, and any copy moved to another phone.
Apart from emails and feedback you send us, we hold no copy of your data, so there is nothing for us to delete on our side. Feedback is kept until it has been handled and for 12 months at most; to have yours removed sooner, contact us. You are still welcome to contact us with any question.
Security
Your data is kept in LogEZ's private app storage. Map requests and feedback use encrypted HTTPS, and LogEZ blocks unencrypted connections entirely.
Children
LogEZ is made for adults and is not directed at children.
Health information
LogEZ is not a medical device and does not diagnose, treat or prevent any condition. Heart-rate zones, calories and other figures are general fitness estimates. Talk to a healthcare professional before starting a new exercise programme.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the effective date above changes too, and the app update's release notes say what changed.
